My rabbit died recently and now we have an empty cage, and I was wondering if it would be all right for my cockatiel. The bars are about an inch apart and it's around 17 inches tall and 31 inches long. I'll see if I can get some pictures of it.

I was thinking I would switch him to it because I've read that wide cages are better than tall ones, and the one he's in right now is a really crappy tall one that I really hate. Opinions?

Try putting your perches,food dishes and toys into the cage and then look at it again and you will have a better idea if the cage would be suitable and remember to check which way the bars are running as tiels like to climb.I had a round cage once upon a time for tiel and it was hopeless as they couldnt climb well on the bars.Hope this is of some help.
