I thought I would share this with you all. Our IRN (who we thought would never find a bird she liked enough to mate with) has finally had her first egg. We are so over the moon, its the funniest thing. Ive been telling everyone I see that our IRN had her first egg today. LOL At this point in time we are just happy to see a egg. We've had Capn Jack (the Mama bird *its a kid thing*) for a couple of years now and this is our first first egg ever,
Yayyy
isnt she a clever mama bird
You would think its my egg the way im carrying on.

So the mama finally left the box long enough for me to candle the eggs. One is definitely empty
and the other is definitely occupied. Yayyyy. Can't wait...... I know, I know. .... Don't count your ringnecks until their hatched but I'm just so excited. I'll attach a pic of Jack and Archimedes shortly..
Lol at talking to myself in a forum

Congrats on your first egg!!
Exciting times ahead!! I remember my first year I was over the moon with happiness. I hate to say..... The excitement and happiness NEVER go away!!!
I am on my 6th year and I still act like a kid in a candy store when the first, second and every pair go down
Best of luck!!

Congrats! Love them eggs.
A tip: include more nesting material. One day your hen might just get a fright and next thing you know, your precious egg is cracked or broken.

when the babies are ready for homes... be sure to screen them.. don't sell them to just any-ol-body who has the cash
