I don't know the "official" age, with Sanjay he was around two years, and even then, he's had a bit of "finishing off" since. I know from breeding dogs and cats, some bloodlines were quick maturers others were slower.

Joycew,

From what I've read an IRN male develops his ring at the latest at three years of age but in most cases I have seen it's closer to about two years so my guess would be anywhere between 2 and 3 years. I'm not sure about IRN females but I'm assuming it would be roughly at age 2-3 as well as most breeders posts I've read cautions other newer breeders not to breed with a hen younger than at least two years old.

Perhaps one of the experienced breeders can help you a bit more definitively.

Kind regards,

Wessel
