From that information the only thing that will change is the possibility that he has inherited the cleartail gene from his mother. You would need to test mate him with a cleartail hen to prove if this is true. If this is true, then with your current pairing to a clearheaded fallow, will mean that there is a chance that you may produce double split offspring, that is that they can be split for cleartail and clearheaded fallow.
The pied is a dominant mutation and therefore will not play a part here, as he is not visually a pied.

It's something you need to keep in mind if you intend to breed with the offspring that come from him.

If your birds are not related, it may be a better idea to put your blue cleartail hen to him and put the blue clearheaded fallow hen to your turquoise clearheaded cock. That is unless you are actually trying to breed double splits.

You have plent of options, as you could also put your dark green cleartail hen to him, and if he is split cleartail you have the chance of breeding df dark green cleartails, or even mauve cleartails, if the hen is split blue.

I don't know the history of the parents so can this be from there side? And can I look for a "Clearhead fallow Cleartail" ? I know that maybe I would have to wait a few weeks to see what colour pops out.

CHF is one possible explanation for a red eyed baby in the nest. The other could be NSLino which isn't very uncommon. These season i have heard least of 4 NSLino resp. NSLalbino here in Germany. But as you said for a correct identifaction you need to wait some weeks until the pin feathers open up. Do you have some pics of these youngsters?

How do the eyes of the parents look like? For what i can see from the pics tehy have no visible iris. Is it true?

It will seem to be so.

This is the second pair that had 2 chicks so far 1 being red eye. I was told that the female is pallid and the male df Turq Blue is it true?







Any input would help.
