Thanx Lee for posting the pics.

This is the sibling to the violet bird in question.

Any opinion or comment will be most appreciated.

Hi Taliep / Lee

This is a very interesting bird . I see its still a young bird , Lets hope it keeps the saddleback as it gets older
I hope its been tested as the flights look a bit bent .

Hi All
I would hate to bust the bubble a bit but I think a singular test in inconclusive, that cannot rule out that there is a spike in deficiency that would result in the progressiveness of pied or a saddle, in my opinion one of two options at hand either the bird would mould out and is a progressive pied or the long awaited saddle-back. I cannot lean to the second option as I believe the saddleback is only evident in the dominant pied and the mutations that they are paired with to develop such a brand.
In also studying the pic of the bird I have noticed that the pied on the shafts tips appear white that rings a bell as that colour can in my opinion on a green base colour is rather unusual are you sure that there is no Turq? Better pics would be a cross segmentation of the bird front, open winged, tail etc. to assist with the question at hand
Tks

Gents

The bird was bred from a Violet x DarkViolet Green/blue both imported from Belgium. Definitely no turq.
I will take some updated pics and ask Lee to post them.

Taliep what are you going to pair that saddle back bird to to test if it could pass the saddle on to its offspring

Lee
I will take some recent pics and send them to you to post.

The front of the bird is completely violet green, no yellow.

Farzz.
The bird was a complete green bird in the nest. started getting the yellow saddle during the Moulting season.

Minnie.
I will first have to monitor and see how and what happens after the second moult. If the saddle remains , i will most likely put her back to her father, Violet (ex Belgium)

Hi All

Peter

I will send Lee some recent pics of the bird over the weekend to post.
The bird is still alive and the saddle is still evident as can be.

Lee

The bird is still doing fine, no issues at all
I will forward some recent pics over the weekend that you can post for all to see that the bird is still alive.

Why so curious about this little creature?
