Home grown sunflowers

Post by Tyeman »

So ive got some sunflowers in the garden would it be safe to rip the whole flower/bud off and let them play with it and find the seeds. Or can the plant sap be harmfull?

Heck yeah! It would be a lot of fun for them. Just be sure the sun flower is clean and has no pesticides on it. If I were you, I would take the flower off and soak it in the sink and bake it. This would ensure it's clean and safe. Using a whole sunflower is stimulating and enjoyable for the birds--much like foraging.
