Another bird?

Post by lilbare »

I have a few questions I have a 7 month old hand tame IRN that is my baby. s/he does not like when I mess with his play area. he does not care about his cage but his play area is a different story. I am afraid if I get another bird that he will hurt them over the play area. I am thinking about getting another IRN or a Quaker parrot. They will only be together when out for play time and they will have different cages. He has been around other birds, I use to breed cockatiels and i have finches. I sold my last pair of cockatiels about a month ago. He did not even pay attention that they were their but that was before I made his play area. He did call for them a few times once they were gone.

Should I not risk getting another bird?
Should I take down the play area and re introduce it with both of them in a different way?
Should I just see what happens?

Thank you in advance.

I'd go with option 2.

That is what I am thinking Just was looking for some input I am so use to cockatiel and I had no issue with just putting them in the same cage after the 45 day waiting game. and them liking each other.
