but if u can tell me or post a pic that would be nice:) is a pallidino an albino? so confusing.. haven't read much about these... thanks in advance

A PallidIno is Pallid+Ino (ino being in green Lutino and in blue Albino)
You can breed pallidino males only!
a few ways to breed one
ex: Pallid male X Ino hen

a violetblue pallidino turquoise would be a very nice looking bird, trying to breed some this year.
FYI: Pallid & Turquoise are 2 mutations when combined with INO it will alter the yellow/white color of INO and allows other colors to be visible whereas otherwise INO would be masking colors like violet, grey etc.

Hi Molussus, one way to test ur theory, is to pair you pallid hen to a lutino male, and if you breed a lutino male offspring, then it will disprove the theory of pallidinos in males onlymolossus wrote:Ringo I have never believed the theory of the existence of male Pallidinos only.
according to my understanding the pallidino is a pallid diluted and approaching the lutino in hue. I have a pallid hen that does just that and I bred this one myself.

Both Ino and Pallid are sex-linked mutations. The hen in these mutations only has one active gene possible at that locus. Being alleles a hen can only be one or the other or wildtype. Cocks can have a Pallid and an Ino gene fill the locus giving a true PallidIno.Ringo I have never believed the theory of the existence of male Pallidinos only.

Thanks for the replies. Was thinking about getting a breeding pair and had never seen a blue pallid and a lutino pit "together" before. Genetics are still pretty confusing to me. Thanks again:)

Also, when i put 2violets in the generator it says the babies would be green violet... Does that mean the color green with the violet tail? Or do i need to enter it as a blue violet...??? Sorry, it is all just so very interesting to me!

Many sex linked mutations can manifest in the same hen (Ex: cinamon, SL-ino, opaline, ...) but just one allele for each mutation can be present in a hen.
