Hi would like to know how one would make out visually the difference between a greygreen and a greygreen with 1 dark factor?
How much darker would such a bird be and does anyone have pics with both birds in the same pic for comparison

Thanks
Lushen

Hi Molossus, thanks for the reply but I was looking at the difference between a greygreen and a darkgreygreen, not darkgreen.

Thanks
Lushen

Just a thought but would a dark grey green also have a bluish sheen to its head and rump, like a cobalt grey would have?

Thanks
Lushen

I thought I read somewhere that the Dark factor wouldn't be able to be displayed on a Grey- so I'd imagine that a Greygreen would remain unchanged.

I did look for such birds, but didn't come up with any images. Would be fantastic to be able to compare the two.

No blue (structural) colours can ever appear on a Grey Green. This mutation destroys all structure in the feather.

Willy

This is a proven greygreen violet/blue cock. Notice the absence of the violet (purple) centre tail feathers

Tienie, yes compared to a Violet Green what would have been violet in colour on the nape of the neck and on the primary tail feathers is grey in the Violet Grey Green
