Grey ends on feathers

Post by jmmercer »

Hi All, my little IRN Emerson is 9 months now and transitioning well from her time with the breeder into our new home. I have noticed that the ends of her feathers have grey tips on them. She is a turquoise baby, so these grey tips make her look kind of drab. I'm thinking it's due to a deficiency in her diet, but curious what others may think. :)

Usually it would be grey/black bars across the feathers that would indicate dietary deficiencies during feather growth. I don't know in your case. Post a picture?

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay

She is on a very balanced diet right now that is vet reccommended. Curious if this deficiency could be due to her time at the breeder and not with me? Will post a pic when I'm able.
