Hi everyone,
I have a question on how much attention an IRN would need from me to keep her happy.
I have had Galahs in the past but unfortunately are no longer with me. I have a fairly big cage outside but, I leave for work at about 7:30 in the morning and get home at about 6:00 at night (nobody else is home either). From the time I get home I would like to have her out of the cage and in the house on a perch / stand while I cook and eat dinner so she can see and interact with us during this time (as my house is so small you can’t really leave the room, it's all open plan ! LOL) and then after dinner I can spend about another hour in contact with her but would probably then have to put her back in the cage for bed as it would be about 9:30 – 10:00 and I have heard they get cranky if they don’t have enough sleep.
So, what do you think ? Should I purchase her ? Will she be happy ?
Thanks !
Joanne.

Re: Some questions on purchasing IRN
Hmm, it does'nt allow much time for training/ bonding, or for trying to get a very hyperactive bird back into its' cage. You may also find you have a self harmer ( feather plucker) because the chickster will be lonely and bored. I do'nt know if you would be better off purchasing a bonded pair. Maybe someone else can advise?.
