Hi there. I have had Watson for 5 months now. He is still very nervous. We bought him from the local pet shop. We are wondering whether we should let him out of his cage even though he is not tame. He wont come near us, so iit might be very difficult to get him back in. What do you think? If we canrt gwt him back in, how would you suggest we catch him? We have an amazon who is tame and comes out daily but he is happy to go back in himself to his cage. Any advice is really welcome. Thanks

You could try letting him out in the afternoon just before sundown. Mine put themselves to bed when it gets dark. Just dont leave any lights on. When you do it, go at the bird's pace. Leave the door open & let it come out itself if it wants too.

If you want to tame him then I advise against letting him out. He will only see you as a predator or othe bad one for trying to catch him when it's bedtime.
