terminology/nomenclature.....
hello! clearhead, cleartail, turquoise, creamino, cobalt, rec pied, pallid-ino.. and so on.... I read somewhere that there is 200-300 mutations of indian ringneck (psittacula krameri manilensis). do you know any book or website where I can see all of them...? what about terminology and nomenclature?? I've got some problem with defining for example, why mutation is called "turquoise" if the bird hasn't in colour like turquoise??? can you help???
best regards NelsonPL

Re: terminology/nomenclature.....
The Turquiose is what now is mostly called Parblue and is the most developing mutation at this time.
In the wild gene the mutation make the bird look turquiose in others it doesnt.
There isnt 200-300 mutation but there is 200-300 combonation mutations.
As exmaple pallid is one, ino another and togther as a combanation they could make pallidino.
Batiians book of mutation is the best.
Thanks Glenn
