hi everyone i am very new to the IRN world, i am in love with these gorgeous birds but i am yet to own one. there is a breeder nearby who is selling 3- 4 week old babies from the nest and i would love to hand rear one but before going ahead and purchasing one i would love to know everything about rearing one, i have been researching online and i have read a few posts in this forum about feeding and weaning etc.. but i am still worried that i might not be ready to rear a chick. i would love it if you could help me with any infomation you have or know about rearing a 3-4 week old chick
i hope to chat to you all soon and hopefully i will get my dream bird one day soon <3
to be honest, it maybe best to hold fire on the chick rearing just yet. Its a huge responsibility which should be carried out firstly and preferably by its parents, or secondly a fully experienced breeder/keeper. Not to shoot your hopes down but for both yours and the birds sake maybe best to own a fledged bird first and go from there. I myself see it like this: you want to hand rear a chick - the chick needs to be hand reared properly. Needs overcome wants. I hope you see my point
Good luck
Phil
