The male went in for a week or 2 first. Now for almost a week she has been in and out too, but no eggs. We have left them alone and this is the first time we have checked the nest box so it's not that they haven't been left alone. When might she lay eggs? thank you!

My older pairs that have laid before take between 4 and 6 weeks usually. The younger pairs can take up to 10 or 12 weeks if they lay at all. Depends on the time of year and what part of the breeding season it is.

I would think you would have to wait till about April. The start of Spring. In Australia where I am mine start in July/August. Out of season breeding is not usually successful.
