Just a "bookworm" (or rather an internetworm?) who has no ringneck(s) but REALLY wants a cobalt or violet

Hi there,
Double factor violets are only darker in Australia,
The rest of the world they look the same, but the breeding results change.
Thanks Glenn

Re: Difference between Single Factor and Double Factor viole
yea i live in louisiana where allegedly the first double factor violet was produced and i've seen them and there is quite a bit of noticeable difference in the darkness of violet between a df and a sf bird and i'm trying to breed one for myself but no luck this past season hopefully i get one this coming season. the breeding results differ as for a sf blue violet paired with a blue bird will give you blue and sf blue violet babies pair up 2 sf blue violets and you get blue , sf blue violet, and df blue violet babies, pair up df blue violet with a sf blue violet you get sf blue violet and df blue violet babies and no blue ones pair up 2 df blue violets and you get all df blue violet babies
Re: Difference between Single Factor and Double Factor viole
I am trying to breed some Double Factor Violets this season as well. I have a pair of SF Violet Blues that have laid 5 eggs which I removed and placed under a foster pair. Now the pair of SF Violet Blues are looking like going down again. Dont want to count my chicks before they hatch but hopefully I should get at least one.
Re: Difference between Single Factor and Double Factor viole
yea i plan on doing the same thing this coming season
