Ringnecks not reach sexual maturity till 2-3 years old.
If it's only young you've got a while yet till you can breed from it.

i know that the bird must be at least 2-3 years old. the breeder told me that the irn is gonna lay eggs this breeding season.
when it is breeding season the bird will be 2years. i will try to get him DNA test.

Hi there,
Females can be firtile as young as 1 year and males can be firtile as young as 1.5 years.
But if you have one of these at that age breed then there is a few things that can happen.
As they dont know what they are doing they may not successfully breed,
then hen may not sit on the eggs or feed the young when they hatch,
then sometimes the male can kill the young if he freaks out at them.

Then there is a chance they will produce offspring.
Thanks Glenn
