double factor birds

i have bred from a pair of torquise cobalt irn and the one chick that is 5 weeks old is a buttercup torquise cobalt but has a lot more cobalt over its chest, back and tail than its parents does it mean it is double factor the torquise is mainly on the wings except for the flight feathers which are deep cobalt the other two chicks are torquise cobalt split for buttercup and isnt as deep cobalt both the parents are split for buttercup

so yes you can get double factor cobalts.

Its not a double factor Cobalt. The Cobalt bird has a single Dark Factor. The Bird with 2 Dark factors would be called a Mauve and it looks more like a Dark Grey Color than a Dark Blue. The Turquoise level can vary from bird to bird. Also there is no way of telling the other young are split for Buttercup. They will not automaticly be split. The only way to tell would be test mating them to a Buttercup when they are old enough. If you had a Buttercup Cock or Hen paired to Buttercup Split Cock or Hen then all young would either be Buttercup or Split Buttercup but not from a pair of Splits. Its always best to pair Coloured to Split if you can do it this way. Some people will try and sell what they call possible splits at a premium price.
