Male vs female eyes..

Hi people 
I wanted to know if the eyes of a male does the same as the female IRN? Because i read somewhere that you can tell its a male by the eyes pupil going real small and then big again and such? Also, what does it mean when a bird looks at you and put his face like straight towards you and the pupil goes really small and he does a growling sound?! also the feathers on his head goes up a little...??
