My IRNs are 1 year old :)

Post by effekt »

Wow time flies. Their hatch birthday was Feb 15. I didn't get them till April of last year though.

Their feathers are looking pretty shabby right now. I believe they are going through their first molt (I think they molt at 1 year and 2 years?).

Archimedes is quite the cassanova, he whistles and says hello and asks "how ya doing?". Not very clearly though. I think my birds are a bit low on the IQ. Kashi barely makes any noise, and Archimedes whistles a few things and says only those two phrases, not very clearly.

But I love them anyway :)

Just before Christmas, I had a big health scare with Kashi. I had to take her for an emergency bird vet visit. Fortunately I live near one of the few bird specialists in the country. It was an expensive visit but turns out her windpipe was crushed when she was very very young, and she isn't getting the air she normally would. So once in a while she gets these asthma-like attacks. Kinda scary but now that I know what's going on, at least I can monitor things.

Kashi is a real sweet heart though. She may not make much noise, but she's always willing to step up and she's really happy just to sit on my hand or wander around my desk.

Here's a recent picture of the two little ones :)

That's a beautiful photo. Thanks for sharing it. The birds are beautiful... and you've composed a wonderful shot.

X Plane 10 is the second best if not equal to Bs. There are free helos like the hughes md 500 that are pretty much outstanding. X plane simulates in a very special way. Just check the homepage to find out more.
