What happens when drough breaks....

Post by pinkdevil »

I guess after 1o years of drought, it has finally broken, and in a big way!

We have had rain almost daily for over a week now, and close to 8 inches or so. This is the result of that rain......

This is the 'low level' bridge and the road leading to the other side is under water.

The 'give way' road sign is visible just center of the photo...hint, look for a short red line. lol

This is our picnic area.....

If you look on the opposite side on the river bank, you may see the caravan park....with caravans still there!! :o Wonder how safe they feel right now??

A couple of videos of the flood....

I think you need to click on the video pics for it to open. :)

I would love to see snow falling, not too much though, just the right amount.
So you guys are going to have a white Christmas, while looks like we may have a damp one. Normally our Christmas is celebrated in 40+ °C heat. I would love to see a white Christmas, just once. :)

Well I'm in Holland so on the 5th Dec the Dutch have 'Sinterklaus' which is basically the same as the 25th, I guess yes that will be a white day! On the 25th I'll be in the UK with my Family.... I hope to have an easy drive there and hope to get snowed in while there so I can spend a bit more time... hehehe!

More rain hit here starting late last night and continued for most of the day until the last afternoon storm hit dumping heavy rain. Weather has a flood warning and issued more storms with heavy rain tonight.

Here are a few pic I took between rain.

Pink & Julie

My thoughts are with you... I hope the rain settles down soon.

We've been getting it up here too but nowhere near as bad... today was really hot here and no rain (for a change). I hope the change in weather goes your way soon.

Ellie.

Thanks Ellie. We are not as bad off as were Julie is though. Most of the water has drained away at the house.
But the river has come up partially flooding the local caravan park which had to be evacuated and some main roads are cut off out of town.
