Hello all,

This is my first season with IRN. I have pulled the 2nd clutch for the year for handraising, but the parents seem like they are preparing to go again. I was under the impression that IRN only go to nest twice a year (if you're lucky).

Is a 3rd clutch normal?

Yea they can go down 3 times. I have had no such luck through. If you take the eggs out once the clutch is full then she may go down again.

Well they're definitely going down again. Must be the crazy Tassie weather! Pulled first clutch of chicks at 2 weeks, the 2nd clutch at 3 weeks. They've had 2 clutches of 5 so far, but I would imagine clutch 3 will be smaller. Guess I'll just have to wait and see!
