My long awaited 'whitey' bub has finally arrived! Wooooohoooooo!!!

These trio of chicks are from the same parents as the previous blue and grey chicks I have in the 'for sale' section.

Sorry you didn't get your birds. Maybe next time or they will still be available when you do have the money.

haha.....naming is hard. I throw a few names around but mostly wait till the personality shows through.

I have been trying to get updated photos, but mumma is being very protective and goes in the nest box everytime I go near the aviary. Maybe she remembers me taking her first clutch away? But I still keep a look out and try to out smart her....so far not working.

I am not too good with mutations, still learning. :)

shame man, they must be getting so cute! i am still learning the mutations too, but no one seems to know what mine is, hence asking everyone to chuck in their opinion and maybe we'll figure it out!!!

Here the bubbies are at 1 week of age.
Checkout the chick at the top  :o ...bit of a greedy one. In fact, they are all being well fed. Plenty of fruit, veg, and soft food. :D
I took the pic on my phone as it is less intrusive than my camera and doesn't upset mumma as much, so excuse the poor quality. :)

yeah i cant wait. im a bit annoyed thou, just found out my green male, is female, spoke to the owner of a sibling, and it is male, and completely fully rung since i saw it 5 months ago. which means they are older than the breeder said. but it does the male dance? i am confused!!!!

ag man, so precious, what colour are their parents so we can start guessing the colour of little porky there!

My pair is a rainbow male with a albino female, apparently their last clutch was 5 chicks, three blue rainbow and 2 normal rainbow but was wondering if i could get an albino at all?

What age do the chicks start getting pin feathers?

 @ Porky! I picked them up for the first time today and they are all well fed, just seems 'Porky' likes more than his fair share.....or is the fav child.

I am not sure what to punch in the gen cal for a rainbow bird.....sorry :?

The parents to these are grey/ino dad and Blue cinnamon mum. Only 2 colours it could be, blue or grey. :D

Pins start around 3 weeks of age, aprox.

Looks like you have 2 definate lutinos with the red eyes and they will be hens possibly masking grey and the other one is going to be either blue or grey.

Well I do find myself now trying to figure out how many aviaries I can put in the upper part of my planned chicken run.

But I think to keep the neighbors happy, I would have to go with a quieter breed. Hane is quiet, but his parents aren't! So maybe pionus, poicephalus, or rock pebblers. I just miss raising little ones. :)

*cough* although I do know if I had IRN pairs I would want ones where the females definitely have a mutation, makes sure they get a good home.

i know the feeling Pink!
My pair are at my mums place and they are building on to their house and i have never know such inconsiderate people!
we told thm about the birds and asked that they take special care around the cage, so one morning whilst on the roof after rainthey tipped up the tarpaulin and emptied a nights worth of rain over my poor birds!

then the plumber tried to kill my mums quails by spraying them with water from the geyser!

i got so cross
