Help with weaning please

Hi, our baby is about 2 months old. We were doing 3 feedings with him and then changed it to 2. He doesn't seem interested in the formula much at all now. He does the noise like he is hungry but then he will eat a tiny bit from the syringe and a little bit from a spoon and then he's done. We have a dish of fresh food, a dish of pellets, a dish of seeds, and a dish of water in his cage. We have seen him picking at all types of food but never saw him drink any water. Should we keep trying to feed him twice a day?? Or change it to once? And also we have him out several times throughout the day so could this be causing him to not eat as much as he should be eating? Please any advice is welcome. We are really worried about him.
