New IRN

Hi Asking on behalf of my dad
He has recently purchased an IRN from a pet store and named it Minion.
This bird was hand raised but is from last season (so around 7months old) and was barely handled since it has been in the pet store. So Minion seems hand aggressive, she (not sure about gender) always tries to bite when you go near her, and has a very strong bite.
I would like to know how my dad can gain her trust to be able to hold her and bond with her, as I haven't been able to find any information on the Internet.
