Troubles training my IRN
Hey everyone! My name is Brandy and I purchased a beautiful blue IRN a couple of months ago. My question is: How can I train my IRN is she/he won't take treats from me? I don't believe the problem stems from a trust issue because he/she will let me hold her upside down in my palm and rub it's belly...lol. I do think she's starting the bluffing stage because she has become quite nippy while in her cage. If you have any advice, please share. I also wanna say I'm excited to be a new member of this forum.

Hi brandy and welcome
Usually the treat issue is a personal choice issue for your bird. Try a few different things like small pieces of chopped peanuts, or find a food that your bird absolutely can not live without. Pick a time of day when your bird is sure to be hungry. That most times solves the issue

I am owned by my birds...and I wouldn't have it any other way

I agree with what Skye has said. Your bird may simply be overfed, so it's not hungry. Sounds like you have a charmer there, hanging off your hand letting you rub his/her belly!
Increasing foraging opportunities may also be useful for you. If your bird has to work hard for his/her food, then getting it from you becomes the easy way to get it. See these links for more information:

Thanks for the replies. I always keep food for her in the cage so She grazes all day. Should I only feed her at a specific time everyday?

Mine have food 24/7 too... but I make them work for it by foraging.
