greetings.
Re: Turquoise Cobalt or Turquoise Violet?
Saud, now that it is confirmed that she is mature, I conclude that she is IndigoBlue not TurquoiseBlue because of the relative lack of pistticin making her a mostly Violet Blue coloured bird. A Violet TurquoiseBlue bird will be a mostly Violet Green coloured bird. A cock IndigoBlue will have a white ring.@trabots Why do you say indigo?

Re: Turquoise Cobalt or Turquoise Violet?
Indigo is an allele of Blue and Turquoise. There is no order to their dominance over each other. An allelic relationship does not confer priority of dominance over the other allele(s).Has indigo been shown to be a distinct mutation? Is it an allele of Turquoise?

Re: Turquoise Cobalt or Turquoise Violet?
Hi Willi,
When looking at your IndigoBlue and your DF Indigo we can see that the quantity/extension/concentration of psittacins is higher in DF Indigo but it seems also that the melanin is increased in DF Indigo (look at the primary flying feathers of the wings). Could you confirm this or is it just a light problem?

Re: Turquoise Cobalt or Turquoise Violet?
Mr. Postema
Of course he will.
Genetics surpasses many... or even worse, total ignorance to learn - know it all type (lost cause).
It seems to be a common trait amongst some breeders, unfortunately only a few seek to learn/understand.
Imagine... breeders that don't have questions and knows all - we'd still be in stone age (lutinos & greens) with that attitude.
I always have questions & seek to find answers!
