Hello,
I was given a 5 week old ring neck straight from the aviary yesterday and am unable to get him (sex is undetermined at this stage) to eat. I also believe he may be older then 5 weeks. He has all his feathers, including full length flight feathers and is a very good flyer. His tail feathers are around 4 inches in length. The person I got him from said that he had seen him eating fruit but not seed. I am the first person to handle him and while I understand this maybe a reason he will not take to the formula I am wondering if you have any tips to make it easier for him as I certainly do not want him to suffer anymore then he has. I have been able to get him to hop onto my hand and he will sit on my shoulder and chest, allowing me to stroke him so I know he is becoming comfortable with me. Any tips you could offer would be a real help, I've had hand raised IRNs before, but never in a situation like this.
