White light blue female?

Post by SCB -SA »

I recently got a baby, 3 weeks old, its mother was a very light blue/ white colour, very pale, and the father was a normal blue male, what colour is my baby likely to be? Like the father or mother? I dont know what or if the parents are split but assuming the mother must be, to be such a light colour? i know with certain colours you can also guess the sex, so could you please add your thoughts?

Hi,
It sounds like the mother is a cinnamon blue. so the out come of a cinnamone blue with a blue male would be

1.0 blue cinnamonx 0.1 blue

% from all 1.0

100.0% 1.0 blue /cinnamon
% from all 0.1
100.0% 0.1 blue cinnamon

so you will end up with one looking like its mother or the dad.

Hi,
Sorry i got that wrong the first time round (i put the blue as the female =S)

1.0 blue x 0.1 blue cinnamon

% from all 1.0
100.0% 1.0 blue /cinnamon

% from all 0.1
100.0% 0.1 blue

so you would have a pure blue.
blue baby hen with turquoise blue male.

1.0 turquoise(parblue)Blue x 0.1 blue

% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 blue
50.0% 1.0 turquoise(parblue)Blue

% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 blue
50.0% 0.1 turquoise(parblue)Blue

But if you are after a more veriety in colours maybe get the turquoise blue male to be split pallid (lacewing)

1.0 turquoise(parblue)Blue /pallid x 0.1 blue

% from all 1.0
25.0% 1.0 blue /pallid
25.0% 1.0 turquoise(parblue)Blue /pallid
25.0% 1.0 blue
25.0% 1.0 turquoise(parblue)Blue

% from all 0.1
25.0% 0.1 blue
25.0% 0.1 turquoise(parblue)Blue
25.0% 0.1 blue pallid
25.0% 0.1 turquoise(parblue)Blue pallid

sorry about the mix up before. hope this helps,
David
