My baby boy has learnt a new word....'WATER'.

Every morning when I change his water, I tell him what it is and he can connect the two, word 'water' with the liquid. Very smart boy. :)

Wow! Love the flight pictures! It's so nice to see them in flight! One time Brutus flew around the park--i thought his wings were clipped well--lesson learned for me! He really can pick up wind compared to my ringies...but i must say it was so wonderful to see him fly that high..so majestic! As always Tasha WONDERFUL photos!

Best wishes  ,

OMG Ringneck, bet your heart was in your mouth when Brutus decided to go for a joy flight!!
I think I would have had a heart attack if that had happened. I would love to let Raf outside but I am just not game to. I had thought of harness training him but there are a few predatory birds around here that give my aviary birds a hard time, so not willing to risk it.

Thanks Sarahb :D
They are very expensive, that was one of the things that I pondered over and over and over. The decision to bring Rafiki into our home was not made lightly. But, I do NOT regret spending that money on him one little bit. He really is worth every $, right down to the last cent.

A few people asked why I would bother spending so much money on a bird. My argument is I am a non smoker, and maybe drink a couple of times a year at celebrations. The money I would possibly spend on cigarettes over the course of smoking years, far outweighs the money I spend on "just a bird". Besides, Raf gives me more pleasure than any cigarette could. :D

Fantastic Pinkdevil , you go for it. The joy and love is priceless and as you said, people spend money on all types of wasteful things, gambling, smoking, drinking, over priced clothes and accessories, over priced cars, boats, motorbikes. People have their hobbies, boating, riding, horses etc. and we have our love too .. Birds ! no having to justify your passion to anyone.

Beautiful baby and beautiful pictures, enjoy every second.

xoxox

I just brought a new fid into my life. Dexter my baby Eclectus Parrot.

(hey imagine if they knew how much we spend on all the extra's for them, spoiling them rotten .. lmao)

haha, thanks Kyria, and congrats on your not so little Dexter. :)

It is funny how some people do not batter and eyelid or question how much money is spent on material things, but when it comes to animals, it is like, "you spent how much on that? What a waste of money if it dies". Well, what a waste of money if your designer clothing gets a rip or hole in it! :P

Spoilt rotten doesn't even come close to how spoilt they are, hey.

 I will Bec, shall keep that in mind. :)

Rafiki has extended his vocabulary to now include, Rafikeeeeee and "I love you". Sooooo heart melting and he says it at the most appropriate times to.

Here he is learning his new phrase only after a few days of teaching him, clever boy! :D
Oh, he has also decided to add his name either at the beginning or the end of the "I love you". That, he has done on his own accord. I just repeated the phrase to him. Tickets much, Raf!!???!!! :P

The other birds couldn't get their mug in the footage so they let their presence felt by screeching throughout the video.

He is my long awaited 'pride and joy'.
Raf has added a few more words now. Seems if I don't give him anything to learn to say, he learns random words from our conversations.
