Hey, this is comet, he is about 7 weeks old and he is really tame. He loves to snuggle and still your body heat by crawling under your arm or somewhere else that's worm. I finally got him on Saturday, and I have to feed him twice a day. Black nails on talons? Is this a first?
As I look at more pics I realize some do have black nails. Mine has white/clear nails. One is 6 months old one is 2.5 yrs old.
Hrm, learn something everyday, or you wasted it.

Adorable!
Mikaela, Hane and Tsume have grey nails (opaque, not see through). They had black nails when they were young though. ^^
I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay

Byndi's nails are a strange color too. Maybe Opaque like Mikaela's. Definitely not black. I'll let you know what the babies is if I get one.

Different mutations have different nail colours when they mature, evidently:

Here are Hane and Tsume when they were just babes. Nails were black on both of them. ^^ But now they're both a fleshy grey opaque colour.
