Re: bubs phots session!
aww they are so cute.
Re: bubs phots session!
im trying not to get too atached to the bubs so i havent given them "real names"
but it felt wrong not calling them something while hand rearing them so for the momment they are
blue bub
white girl ( i was told with kieron & orchid all albinos would be girls not sure why)
&silvie
silvie is a bit of a fussy eater so is fed first then last
blue bub is a funny little guy who likes to be fed fron inside the sleeve of my pajamas
( i change in to my old flannys to fed the bubs as they seem to enjoy coating me in food!!!)
but white girl is absolutly georgeous!!!! she complains if im taking to long fillling the spoon for her & doesnt let a little thing like a full beak stop her chattering eitherall of them like cuddles on the couch during the evening
for some reason everytime my son matt talks near the "nursery" they all imedietly start with the little grumble so its become a bit of a joke here every time it happens i say
"oh look you woke the bubs !"
so matt replies in a hushed voice oops sorry
well this morning after their brekkie they were doing the s
:settle down for nap grumble & not thingking i said you woke the bubs
imedietly the grumble became very quiet
matt just looked at me & asked "have you told them they ARE the bubs?"

Re: bubs phots session!
hehe
Well I actually name every single bub I raise as well, its easier to remember them and its fun. I often give them very silly, generic terms, and recycle the names each year hehe It just depends on attitudes that surface.
When it comes to worrying about getting too attached, try to remember this. You will always breed more, you will get this experience each and every year! Start collecting and keeping the young and it can drive your household crazy
I forget what the adults are of your pair, but if the breeder said they can only have albino hens, then the hen must not be albino, and the male must either have the ino gene visual, or split.
If he is visual (albino) then your males are all split ino, if he is just a normal colour (blue, grey etc) then he is split ino... making all your young males 50% chance split to ino, or not split to ino.

Re: bubs phots session!
thanks for the information fah
kieron is a visual blue (from what ive been told split to ino)
and orchid was a silver not sure of any splits there
i have such trouble understanding the genetic calculator your explaination made much more sense!
