how do i stop him from attacking me? don't want to hurt him and can't ignore his bites. read that he should be handled everyday but how since he's drawing blood as soon as he sits on my hands now. can cover my arms but not my hands. think that gloves would scare him. he sometimes moves the sleeves up a bit to bite.
does anyone know what could be wrong? should i return him?

Don’t give up on him. IRN’s can be very aggressive and territorial. Mine attacks my dad. IRN’s are a very hard bird to keep at times. Do you let him out of the cage? Does he bite your hands? Is he new?
