It will probably be too late this year, its coming up for the start of breeding season now and they need to bond first. Do you already have the birds that you want to pair up/ if so have they been caged anywhere near each other?

if they aren't fighting with each other I would say they are ok. Do you have more than one pair in together?

I would do it now and start getting your breeding boxes ready to put in. What colors are you pairing up? I just cleared my inbox and noticed a pm from you , sorry I didn't get it sooner.

I use pine shavings, on the pack it has rabbits and rats.
If you are interested and didn't already know about it, there is the annual monster bird sale coming up over here http://www.birdsale.com.au/Details/NSW_ ... a_Jun.html there is always heaps of ring necks there and some real nice mutations going cheap.

Sorry about all the questions----how much nesting material should i put in the box? I believe they will throw out what they dont want anyway.

yeah they do throw out what they don't want  I put enough in to come just below the perch part that allows the birds to climb out and then the hen goes to town chucking what she doesn't want out. I will find some pics of the birds that I have at the moment. I lost a couple of lacewing hens to my feral albino hen who decided she had breeding rights and knocked them off  that's why I asked are you able to separate them.
