Grey-Green Violet
Would the color violet show on a bird that's grey-green violet??
Yes, there should be Violet through the tail (quite noticable) and voilet colouring through the flight feathers or wings or both, though the wing areas could be almost non noticeable in a greygreen.
The grey can only mask violet completely when blue is also involved, at least we have had birds through greygreen with violet visual on tail.
Either way, the tail should be different compared to a regular greygreen. If it isnt, then you can safely say its not a violet greygreen.
I welcome any corrections, however this is from what I have seen myself. If anyone has other experieces, please let me know as I wouldnt mind taking a look at one not showing the violet for one reason or another.
EDIT: Just asked a friend who has a greygreen violet, in some odd circumstances a greygreen violet can show almost no violet colouring... HOWEVER, will apppear quite dark in body compared to a regular greygreen.
That should solve your problems, If its not quite dark compared to a reg greygreen, and or its not showing violet through the tail... you could happily accept its a regular greygreen.
