You have very nice looking birds Conurelover but I don't see a conure in the bunch. :lol:

I've always had my eye on some of those Princess of Whales They are so adorable!!

I use to own conures. Sorry about the name. I still like them my favorite being the Green Cheek Conure.

Aww! I love the pinky color in your Princess!

I've been looking around for lovebirds lately.. Oh dear, my mind is really stuck on some fischers lovebirds or masked violets. I'm dropping hints to my partner. *wink wink* But.. But.. I've got a spare cage??? hehe.

What happened to your first tiel in the pics? I had a tiel that plucked its belly too. :cry:

The cockatiels came from a friend of mine who is allergic to their dander. The one with the plucked chest was in a cage with 7 other cockatiels and I think the male wanted to mate and plucked her. At least now she has a chance to recuperate. The ones I have all get along with each other. I hope her chest heals soon.

Is "princess of wales" the name of the mutation?

No Princess of Wales is the acutal name of the bird. They aren't that common. Here is what I found out about them. They are pretty close to the Indian Ringneck family.

Polytelis Alexandrae
Commonly called the Princess of Wales Parakeet or Princess Parrot

Origin: Interior of western and central Australia
Length: 35 cm (about 14 in)

Babies AVAILABLE

The Princess Parakeet is a stunning bird, the pink on it's chest seems almost unreal, it's so unusual. They have a lovely wash of lavender over the back of their head. If kept as breeding or aviary pairs these birds need to be in a large flight with plenty of room to exercise preferably 8 feet long. As pets they are delightful companions and can be very good talkers. The cage requirement of a pet Princess is much easier; 2x2x18" deep would be the minimum. Be sure the cage can accommodate the long tail. We feed ours 50% parrot seed every other day and supply pellets all the time. They love to eat and love fresh food in abundance. They are fairly quiet birds and can be kept in an apartment. Their main call is a chirp very much like a cockatiel, although it can be a little louder. They are able to bond to more than one member of the family. They come in a variety of mutations, however we only carry the normal coloring. I'm hooked on their gorgeous pink and lavender!

I especially loved seeing your lovebirds, I miss having them around here! I've had my eye out for a black masked for the longest time. There doesn't seem to be any around these parts, though.

Arkansas(really close to Missouri, though), where I live its hard to find nice breeders. I had to drive over 3 1/2 hours just to get my IRN.

Here's my cockatiel. Just started plucking it's feathers out much to my dismay. S/he pulls out the large wing feathers and makes her/himself bleed, hence the collar.

Avian vet believes cockatiel is jealous of the IRN as the plucking started around the same time IRN arrived.

Oh no! Poor lil birdie. Reminds me of my tiel 'Chicky'. Our tiel did the same but after braking its breast bone.

I'd keep them in separate rooms if you can. I was worried my Jibs would feel a little jealous when I got Yoda as hes been the only bird for much of his life. But I try to spend equal amount of attention with both even though Yoda only wants to 'chat' to me at the moment.

Yes they are kept separate as much as possible and I try not to let him/her see me handling the IRN. If the cockatiel wasn't such a savage, he/she might get handled like the IRN.
