Everyones gotta start off somewhere. Get as much info as you can first. Maybe read a few books on breeding them. You have the time so Im sure you'll do fine.
Ive never breed, but one day I will.
Sorry I cant help with the actual 'breeding'. But Id educate myself before I started.

Well, this is my first year breeding Indian Ringnecks. I have bred cockatiels, budgies and finches before. Babies are the cutest thing. If you are planning on hand rearing them, it would be best to get trained by someone who knows what to do. There are a lot of simple mistakes that can easily be avoided but if made, can cause seriouse injury and even death. If it was up to me, I would let them breed. You can try handling the babies, one at a time, out of the nestbox. I have tamed most of my babies like this ( I dont know how well it will work on ringnecks though). Also, avianpublications.com sells a pretty good book called the Indian Ringneck Breeder's Handbook for about $40. It is lots of info on: breeding, nestboxes, hand rearing, and it even talks, explains and litteraly shows you the percentages and color babies you get when you breed certain mutations. It has lots of color pics too. I hope this helps and Good luck with your decision!!!
