Sexing Indian Ringnecks

Post by ringneck »

Sexing Ringnecks can be done through DNA sexing for 99 percent accuracy. I have my methods; however, keep in mind it’s still a 50/50 change.

I just gone done posting this in the MISC section…

Male Ringnecks are smaller and skinnier in general. Males walk more like cockatiels and budgies. Female Ringnecks are thicker and walk more like Amazons or Macaws. Also, male Ringneck feet are thinner and a female Ringneck feet are thicker; mainly the toes. Female Ringnecks keep there feet farther apart on perches than males. The facial shape of the female is more round, while the male is more oval and elongated. So, to sum things up, if you see a husky Ringneck chances are it might be a female. Males are smaller and not as thick.

Hope this helps and I move your message to Misc. Section. ;)

Best wishes,

I.C.
