Hi everyone
We were gifted 2 Indian ringnecks (from my dad for my daughter - he is a breeder)
Beautiful avairy built - mum and dad (Arnott - very vocal and comes to us every time — mum is not sociable at all)
Anyways they have bred 3 babies / all beautiful different colours.
It’s been 10 weeks so they are all feeding themselves but constant fighting - usually mum
We are planning to scale down - my daughter really wants another male to talk to. It’s hectic as hell when trying to
associate as mum screeches when we approach but Arnott (dad ) is straight up in our face talking and not scared at all.
Question - yes we are newbies! But what is the best scenario to tame the babies to become talkers and tame them a bit.
One of the babies is leaving shorty.
Thanks so much

Re: After advice for baby ringnecks!
I've been away from the forum for quite sometime. My apologies. The most important thing is to really socialize them and expose them to a lot at this age. Birds that are hand feeding, or that are very young, tend to do very well if socialized. Make sure their feet are touched, beak, they are daily put on their backs, and a harness is used. This is the only time they are so open to so much, take advantage of this window. Check out this article I wrote on socializing, this will point you in the right direction.
Best wishes,
