Shey can you help post pictures again
Re: What Mutation Please
If that bird was in SA, I'd go with SF NT violet SF dark. In your case, I'd guess SF deep SF dark.
Re: What Mutation Please
Johan,
i'd go with your first guess as the correct one.
deep dark should have almost black flights
these birds have strong darker blue in the flights.

Re: What Mutation Please
yep, one can see everything on the website once a page is opened
still relevant to show a particular pic link so there's no confusion which bird is talked about.

Re: What Mutation Please
would anyone have a picture of NT violet
Re: What Mutation Please
Of course.Traceyweller wrote:would anyone have a picture of NT violet
Notice the dark body with lighter than expected tail.
Cobalt cock and NT hen (parents of some of the birds in the other topic). These NT birds were imported from Europe as cobalts, and you can see why.

Re: What Mutation Please
Interesting topic - I'll be getting a violet soon, but do not know the specifics, I had no idea there were so many different violets. I know it's split to clearhead/cleartail. What would be the correct questions to ask the breeder about color specifics?
Re: What Mutation Please
Ok Tracey, so where are the pics already? You should have plenty of good ones.Traceyweller wrote:Last post before I can upload pictures

Hi Johan been flat out and its nigel . Being a novice breeder am I looking at single and double factors ? The main different I can see to my others are the flights on these birds ?
