my irn is not ....help

new owner of a approx 7 mo irn and it woke up this morning non weight baring on its left leg/foot? claw wont close around anything??? Otherwise acting appropriately? Do I wait a day or so? or do we take it in now???? please advise.

I know very little about medical issues, so I would say call your Avian Vet.
That's what I would do anyway. I find the nurses who answer the phone are knowledgeable enough to tell me if it is urgent or not. I like to be cautious.

There was just a post from someone else who noticed the bird would not use the foot. They discovered the foot was swollen, and I assume in pain. The cause was the leg band was too tight. They got the band off and the bird felt better very quickly. Here is a link:
