Just leave them as they are for a few more days IMO
Float test will not help you, if anything you can drown the chick inside.

Re: Should I start assisting the egg?
I cannot say any more than what I am going to say here, BUT:
I was recently researching how chicken eggs destined for human consumption are treated differently in different areas of the world. (Don't ask.) It turns out that simply washing the egg changes how it "interacts with" or is "affected by" the environment, if you can attribute such an active status to an unfertilized chicken egg. I don't recall if it had to do with salmonella entering the egg through the shell, or if it had to do with oxygen, or what - it was not the thing I was looking for so I forgot it.
The point was that washing the egg DID affect the integrity of the barrier between "in egg" and "outside world".
Is this information of use here? I don't know, but since I did so recently read that, thought I should put it out there just in case.
