Smart and sweet

Post by spizella »

The other day I let out a loud sneeze, then heard my Sophie (in the next room) say "Bless you," which she'd never done before. I'm always saying "Bless you" to any sneeze, person or animal, so she picked it up that way, but it was a surprise to hear her apply it back to me and my sneeze. It was just a little thing, of course, but it's a good reminder for me of the kind of thinking she's capable of. (As opposed to the budgie, who hears me sneeze and behaves as though I were making an attempt on his life.)
