Post by Redzone »

I give to you.... RINGBRANDT!

Yes, Nila now has his own water colour set (non toxic) & easel :P

Let's see what masterpieces he can come up with!

Thanks, he's a talented artist already.
I think we are officially classed as crazy bird people now!
Btw we found a ringneck sized xylophone at toyworld!
We now have enough training toys to keep us busy for atleast a month.

You might have to wait a few years for that signature, I'll have to teach him to write first!
Would a footprint do instead? It's only a matter of time before he steps in the paints...

A footprint is so much more unique :D I can just see him walking across the paints and then the paper. You can call it...the rainbow ringneck :D

His birdiness painted a picture yesterday that, if you squint the right way and stand quite far away, almost looks like it has a parrot in it, impressionist styles.

I love the way that he will have a go at almost any new toy we bring home! He is such a yes man! I wonder if he'd wear a beret when he is painting....

A whole lot of squiggles and brush strokes. I did say you have to squint and look from a distance. But Dave saw the parrot too!

I'll ask Redzone to put it up when he gets home.
Do you want me to circle the bit that looks like a parrot so you can tell where it is? when I asked what the picture was of I was informed it is 'what doing peekaboo' That's also what the last painting was called. ...

It could go that way too. We have those birds here on the north shore. Here they call them nectar birds. But if you stare even longer...now I see a dragon with wings hovering over a parrot :D

You know I just saw a art auction feature elephant art. They went for hundreds of dollars each. Maybe you could make birdie art a new trend :D

Hmmm we better talk to some art dealers. I think bh taught her parrot to paint and sold the finished works to raise money for parrot charities. I'm sure nila would be happy to do that. Anyone want to help write the information cards about the paintings?

jml. My computer and phone aren't talking to each other at the moment, I'll make some videos as soon as I sort that out or buy a video camera.

Thanks. It's amazing what you can find in ringneck size! I think he'd do better with bigger paints though cos he keeps rubbing the brush across more than one and mixing colors. The effect is rather striking though, and he doesn't really walk through the palette since it's small.

I totally love this. I could see two birds. It's clear. I didn't even have to squint. I love the easel. I love the real watercolour paper. I love the pool table in the background. I looked at Rocky, just to see if I could imagine making a little crocheted Ringneck Beret, and he must've seen it in my eye because he backed away...... Of course, if it were my bird painting that, no way could I part with it. Really cheered my evening!

I gave Skye a q-tip just to see if I could get him to hold it in his mouth to a piece of paper and he held it in his mouth like a baton, flipped it around a few times and took off with it lol. I think he may be better suited for the circus :D

OMG Nila is a genius. How did you teach him to paint like that? If I gave Aero those brushed he would probably paint my face red, lol. Give a treat to Nila for me. Jus a suggestion what about making a picture with 2 colours or colours symbolising IRNS, like green, pink black and white, similar to bh.

Alphawolf, Nila and I have a fairly good understanding. I suspect the fact that he is a genius may be why we have such a good understanding  and he will do anything for a sunflower seed, as long as you can explain to him what you want.

We will try to enter his work into an art comp sometime, just for giggles.... if we can convince missk to write the blurb to go with it!

Ok that's a great idea Claire! Maybe we can record our ring necks screaming and send it to her. I bet Aero, Nila and Skye can scream so hard together it will make MissK come back with bleeding ears.
