Charlie's mum and dad

Post by ellieelectrons »

Hi All

I recently found out that there is local avian group on the Sunshine Coast (Thanks Chienderace for telling me about it!). See http://www.scas.org.au/index.html

So I went along on Thursday night. Just about all of the people there were bird breeders rather than companion parrot owners which isn't a great fit for me but still I learnt a few bits and pieces (eg. one breeder told us about what weeds were safe for your bird to eat which was really good to know) and I think I will go back.

I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the person who bred our lutino, Charlie, was one of the key people involved in the club too. He used to own a local pet store here but has since retired. He has posted the stories of Charlie's parents (Sasha and Jello) to the Aussie Birds forum... and they're so cool, I just had to share!

They are pretty amazing birds and I am one of the lucky ones who gets to share my life with one of their offspring!

Ellie.

Amazing stories. It was just captivating and what amazing devoted parents those two are. You are certainly lucky to have Charlie :D
