Which one!

Post by LiveWire »

Which one is Naboo? :D

My breeder Sent pictures today of the parents and babies! Not the clearest pictures but to me they are beautiful. :D
Image
These are the parents the hen is Turquoise/Cobalt, and the Cock Cobalt. It appears they are camera shy but I will take what I can get.
The cage is up off the ground in a eucalyptus tree

Image
Two of the babies! Two weeks old. (That jar of banana baby food is for her sun conure babies who are almost weened.)

Image
All three :D Two weeks old

soooo any of them look like Cobalt boys? I wish they hatched with birth certificates attached to them. The guessing game is almost as bad as the waiting game.

... I think the little one in the back is mooning the camera.

Hi there just a bit of info for you.

IRN's cant be split for cobalt they have to show it so the babies will all be as follows if the hen is also cobalt.

1.0 D blue
x 0.1 D turquoise(parblue)
% from all 1.0
25.0% 1.0 turquoise(parblue)Blue
25.0% 1.0 DD turquoise(parblue)Blue
50.0% 1.0 D turquoise(parblue)Blue
% from all 0.1
25.0% 0.1 turquoise(parblue)Blue
25.0% 0.1 DD turquoise(parblue)Blue
50.0% 0.1 D turquoise(parblue)Blue

If she is not cobalt.
1.0 D blue
x 0.1 turquoise(parblue)
% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 turquoise(parblue)Blue
50.0% 1.0 D turquoise(parblue)Blue
% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 turquoise(parblue)Blue
50.0% 0.1 D turquoise(parblue)Blue

As you can see either way the babies will be turquiose the first result has the option of double factor cobalt (dark factor) and second doesn't.

Either way they all look very healthy and well looked after by the breeder.

Thanks Glenn

Thank you very much for the info. May I ask what the difference is between a turquoise and turquoise blue visually? Is there just a greater abundance of blue feathers as opposed to green? And darker color feathers with the dark factor?
I'll find out soon if the hen is cobalt or not. I wish the pictures were better or that I lived closer to the breeder. Of hand would you have any links to what they might look like?

Your right they do look healthy and happy. I can't wait to bring one home :D

Thank you so much for all your help.

Sort of replace all the green with blue and put a yellowi orangie browni colour on the wings and back andas for the cobalt yes the blue should be alot darker and there toe nails black.

Off hand i dont have a link but try and google individual colours and you will find breeders with there own pages and they put the different combo mutation on there.

I dont believe she is judging by the picture but below are the results.

1.0 D blue
x 0.1 turquoise(parblue)Blue
% from all 1.0
25.0% 1.0 blue
25.0% 1.0 turquoise(parblue)Blue
25.0% 1.0 D blue
25.0% 1.0 D turquoise(parblue)Blue
% from all 0.1
25.0% 0.1 blue
25.0% 0.1 turquoise(parblue)Blue
25.0% 0.1 D blue
25.0% 0.1 D turquoise(parblue)Blue

The ones with D in front are cobalt.
