Ideal Weight and Growth Rate

Post by Donovan »

I simply cannot find it on the forum but i'm sure it's here somewhere....

What is the ideal weight and growth rate from hatching to adulthood?
And acceptable ranges
(In my case i'm looking for 15 weeks)

If anyone can post a scale or chart I think others may benefit from it also

Donovan, there isn't an ideal weight that every bird should be. That would be like expecting me and missk to have the same weight because we are both female adults.
Janey is 118g if I remember correctly, 10g less than Sapphire. Sapphire is taller than Janey and has a much bigger beak. Sapphire was 118g when she had her vet check and had quite a prominent keelbone. I haven't compared Janeys keel, because I like my fingers to stay intact!
The best way to tell if your bird is the right weight is by it's keel. Ask your vet to show you and explain it. When you know how the bird should feel, weigh it and use that as your reference for that bird. *Disclaimer over*
