Bad Feet

Post by melski84 »

Hi,
My IRN 'Frank' is about 16 months old and he has curled up feet, has had since day 1. Was just wondering if anyone has had a bird with the same problem, he gets around fine and can sit on his perch, and is a happy.

Sounds like it may be clubbed feet which is a birth abnormality- some can be splinted early in the first couple of weeks of hatching to correct.
It has been suggested that it may be hereditary.

If he gets around just fine I wouldn't worry about it :)

My Indian ringneck has one crooked toe but the one toe and the bottom of his left foot is red and irritated but he is still doing everything normal like eating with it and climbing all over his cage. Is their anything I can do for it? No ulcers on it just reddish pink.and feels a little rough. Can they break their toes ? Is their a way to fix it if it happens? I love my little boy he's almost 6 years old
