seed moths

Post by 3tiels&aringneck »

Does anyone know of a way to get rid of the moths that come in the bags of bird seed. Unfortunately, I feed with seed rather than pellets, and I am finding more and more moths flying around. I have purchased the seed moth traps, but they don't seem to be working.

I could really use some help with some ideas of what I can do about them.

Ha Ha Ha! I use moth traps that are laced with female pheromones. The males get attracted to the sent and get caught--it's a sticky trap. I also vacuum 2 times a day and keep my seeds stored in the refrigerator to avoid any caterpillars. Make sure to get seed in smaller quantities as this makes storage easy too.

Hope this helps  !

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try with the next bag of food I buy. I bought more moth traps too. Wendy
