Pohutukawa tree??

Post by midnightflight »

I live in NZ and we have a tree here called Pohutukawa. I was wondering wether the wood would be safe for my stinky.

I did some research and found that it is part of the Myrtle family which is NOT safe for parrots, but it is safe for our native parrot the Kakariki (a type of rosella).

Its pretty far down in the order and Rookies breeder said that it falls in his averys with no ill effects.

Any help would be appreciated : D

Looked up the scientific name, and here it notes that it is non-poisonous to animals. http://www.southernwoods.co.nz/cart/res ... rch=Search

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay
